AUTEC, SIRA and IGM are organizing the 1st International Conference on “Geomatics and Restoration: Conservation of Cultural Heritage in the Digital Era”. The Conference will take place in Florence, Italy (22 – 24 May 2017) with the aim of bringing together the community of researchers in geomatics and restoration.
As a sponsor of the event, Planetek Italia will participate the event with a booth.
Traditionally specialists in geomatics and restorers approach cultural heritage from different perspectives. For example, data producers often overestimate the importance of accuracy, while data users do not appreciate the importance of correct methodology in creating a reliable survey of an architectural complex. Sharing, exchanging, and exploring new approaches, good practices, and research results in this cross-disciplinary arena should be helpful in order to develop a common language and to share common goals.
Contributions in the form of papers and short multimedia presentations are invited on the following topics:
- Documentation of monumental complexes
- The use of digital images in visible and not-visible ranges
- Thematic data documenting pathologies, materials, decay, data georeferencing
- Risk and resilience
- HBIM for management and maintenance
- Digital and physical replicas – augmented reality, virtual restoration
- Education: courses, workshops, summer schools…. developing new professional skills
- The relationship between recording and design processing
- Communication
The conference is supported by ISPRS ( WG V/1, WG V/2 WG II/8, WG VI/2) and CIPA Heritage Documentation and is under the patronage of “Commissione Nazionale Italiana per UNESCO”, MIBACT, ICOMOS – Italy, Città Metropolitana di Firenze, Municipality of Firenze, UNIFI and SIFET.
