SkySat is a constellation of 21 high-resolution Earth imaging satellites owned and operated by the commercial company Planet. The SkySat constellation collects thousands of square kilometers of imagery every day with 5O cm spatial resolution.
SkySat Satellites is part of Planets capacity to capture 350 million square kilometers of the Earth’s landmass every day, with new images published as fast as 8 hours after collection. Planet Archive contains on average 1200 images for every location on Earth, so you can travel back in time and understand change over time.
Consisting of 10+ billion sq km of imagery, Planet Archive has proprietary datasets back to 2009. This growing archive offers customers rich historical context across the globe, as well as deep imagery stacks for application development and machine learning-based analytics.
SkySat Satellites have three CMOS Frame Cameras per satellite with Panchromatic and Multispectral halves, which capture overlapping strips. Each of these strips contain overlapping scenes.
SkySat Full Archive and New Tasking include: Basic Scene Product (L2B), the SkySat Orthoscene Product (L3B) and the SkySat OrthoCollect Product (L3B) in different product types.
