Next 12-13 May 2014 in Athens, Greece, will be held a conference on “Copernicus- Sentinels Serving Society and the Environment”, a conference jointly organised by the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Space Agency, and the European Commission.
The focus is on geospatial information and services as a strategic tool to empower public administrations and business to improve public services, to better their relations with the citizens and customers respectively, and to take better informed decisions on future territorial development, with socio-economic and environmental considerations in mind.
The conference will show practical examples of geospatial solutions in sectors such as the environment and risk management, energy, territorial planning and e-governance.
Europe’s satellite infrastructure Copernicus combines data from Earth Observation satellites and other sources to offer a hub of geospatial information expected to improve knowledge and generate new jobs in Europe’s regions and cities.
A networking session will give the opportunity to Greek and other international companies to meet and discover their capabilities.
At the event participates also Planetek Hellas, as a representative of Greek aerospace companies, with a speech illustrating latest marine-coastal E.O. technologies and applications innovations realized.
