Rheticus® Aquaculture satellite data will be showcased at the fourth edition of Aquafarm 2020, held on 19-20 February 2020 in Pordenone, Italy, the international exhibition-conference dedicated to technologies, products and good practices of sustainable production of food from the water.
Aquafarm 2020 will give Planetek Italia the opportunity to present the on-going campaign of 30 Italian shelfish farming sites, held in cooperation with AMA - Associazione Mediterranea Acquacoltori, Bluefarm srl and Mitilab by Cocci Luciano Srl, led by AMA and provided by Planetek's Rheticus® Aquaculture satellite and in-situ information services.
Rheticus® Aquaculture provides aquaculture farmers with daily information designed for the optimal management of fish and shellfish farming activities in marine waters, aimed at increasing production and profitability. The main benefits include determining the optimal time for harvesting and selling products, by estimating the growth trends and the best selling time.
Planetek Italia will also showcase Rheticus® Marine services and best practices designed for efficient and sustainable management of activities in the Aquaculture, Algaculture, Shellfish and Fisheries sectors.
AQUAFARM 2020 is an International two-day event dedicated to operators of the Euro-Mediterranean sustainable aquaculture industry, one of the food production activities with the highest growth rate worldwide, which supplies 46% of the total amount of fish consumed and is exceeding deep sea fishing as a source of supply. Moreover, using sustainability criteria, aquaculture could become the most advantageous zoo technical activity with regards to the relationship between foodstuff used and product obtained.
The event will provide the opportunity to meet the operators involved in the industry – from breeding, processing and transformation up to distribution and consumption – with the chance to meet demand and offer, professional updating and networking.
